Gallery 53's 12th Annual Photography Show, "Captured Moments," is an opportunity for photographers to share their unique viewpoints - whether their work is traditional black and white or color prints, or digital compositions. The show generally attracts recognized professionals as well as talented amateurs, and features an array of diverse subjects and styles.
Captured Moments will be on exhibit through September. It will also be on our website as a virtual exhibit (see the 2020 virtual exhibit here). Plus, you'll have the option of being included in the online store, and social media. To be included in the online exhibit, store and social media, please submit your work digitally after you deliver your physical pieces to the gallery (NOTE: Gallery 53 takes a 30% commission).

ABOUT OUR JUDGE: JEANNE McDONAGH
We are delighted to have Jeanne McDonagh judge “Captured Moments,” G53’s 12th Annual Photography Show! Jeanne is a digital arts teacher and artist who recently retired from a 32-year career at New Canaan High School where she taught AP Studio Art 2D Design, Photoshop Design, Advanced Digital Media, Intro to Photography, and Documentary Photography.
Her students’ work consistently won numerous awards at the state level. Outside of the classroom, Jeanne spearheaded projects such as a student life wall mural for the school cafeteria, and “Brick House,” a video created as a partnership between Philip Johnson’s Glass House and New Canaan High School students and teachers. Considering her contributions to the community, Jeanne was recognized by the New Canaan Museum & Historical Society as one of 19 “Women Leaders in New Canaan” in 2020. more . . .
Ms. McDonagh, who considers herself a “lifelong learner,” earned a BA, BS from Saint John’s University and an MFA in Painting and Graphic Design from the Rochester Institute of Technology. She continued her education after college with courses and workshops at Pratt Institute, Silvermine School of Art, Center for Contemporary Printmaking, Apple Computer Resource Workshops, and Norwalk Community College. In addition to her teaching career, Jeanne McDonagh has exhibited her photography at Mystic Museum of Art, Fairfield Museum, and Carriage Barn Arts Center. She has been a photography juror and commentator for the Lower Fairfield Photography Club (2009 – 2020) and the Norwalk Photo Club (3013). |

FRAMING/PRESENTATION
- All photos must be wired and ready for hanging.
- NO SAWTOOTH HANGERS
- Framed work more than 42” in width accepted at discretion of a selection committee
- Labels must be completed, signed and accompany each piece. Each label has 2 parts, (top and bottom) containing the same information
- Affix the label to the lower left-hand corner of the work on the back of the frame. One half of the label will extend below the frame
SALES COMMISSION
- A 30% commission will be taken on sold items
- NO price on request.
- Not for sale is OK
