A NEW ELEVATOR IS ESSENTIAL TO CREATE ACCESS FOR ALL!
A new elevator would allow EVERYONE in the community to access ALL our programs and events.

As a Meriden arts nonprofit, we love the sense of community in our downtown neighborhood and the city at large. It’s because of this community that we’ve chosen to stay in our circa 1894 building despite recent challenges, including a leaky roof and structural issues. Today, thanks to community generosity, and a crucial boost from the American Rescue Fund, our building has a new roof and is is structurally stable.
BUT we’re still challenged by a 90+ year old elevator that has been on life support for years. While we need to use it for day-to-day operations, it can't be repaired because replacement parts aren't available. Installing a new, accessible elevator would allow full use of every floor as well as access for people who can’t take advantage of our programs now. Quite simply, if we are to continue to survive and thrive, a new elevator is essential! |

This 90+ year old elevator was installed during The Great Depression when Franklin Delano Roosevelt was President! It's served us well for many years, but now it's cranky, temperamental, unreliable . . .. and more than ready to retire!
Because construction costs have increased exponentially, we’re still short of our goal - despite our tireless fundraising and continual pursuit of grants. That’s why we’re reaching out to you, our community, in the hope that you will consider contributing to our “Elevate the Arts” Campaign.
