ABOUT RAY GAWLAK
Ray Gawlak opening his first photography studio in 1968. He has exhibited in numerous locales such as libraries, galleries, and the Phoenix Mutual headquarters in Hartford. He has been awarded prizes for entries in professional organizations and art competitions, including first prize for photography at the Pomperaug Woods Art of Experience Juried Art Show in 2015. Throughout his career, Ray has done extensive sports, wedding, and portrait work. He specializes in outdoor and location portraiture, which he believes allows subjects to feel more at ease during the session as well as presenting a greater variety of lighting and posing opportunities.
