"Many who follow my work know that I am inspired by the 19th century Hudson River painters. I love the pure and innocent American landscape that they often portrayed in their art.
I asked myself how an artist of that era would have painted the Meriden landscape of The Hanging Hills. I then waited for a morning with soft light bathing and skimming the sculpted ledges of the ridge, chose subdued warm colors to add to the sense of nostalgia and an Old Master painting.
