Come join us for a hands-on cold wax and oil painting class. Throw away your notions of how to manipulate paint. This is a very different experience. It’s a very forgiving medium and easy to get started.
Cold wax allows you to work loosely, intuitively, and boldly and to achieve a subtle, translucent surface with depth and layers of meaning. I will pass on my tricks and guide you through the creative process. We will discuss the types of substrates, tools, and how to apply and strategically remove paint to achieve unique effects.
Cold wax will expand your range for creative expression. For many artists it’s a game changer. And it’s fun.
Please bring an open mind and old clothes!
Instructor will provide materials (cold wax, oil paints, oil paper); $20 materials fee payable to instructor the day of class. Artists will also need to bring their own brushes and other essentials; download materials list here.
