"Grass Island Guilford" by G53 Artist Ellen Zimitravich was awarded the Irma Morse Memorial Award in the 97th Annual Fall Art Show. Juror Karen Israel describes this work as follows: "The artist not only has conveyed a strong sense of calm, but a dreamy atmosphere as well. This was achieved by a clear sense of the direction and color of the light. The reflections are expertly handled and the diagonal patterns of the clouds provide a strong compositional element to balance the vertical and horizontal shapes."
