"Lavender's Green" by Wallingford, Connecticut artist Patricia Corbett was awarded the Lillian Carney Memorial Award in the 97th Annual Fall Art Show. Juror Karen Israel described this oil painting saying, "I fell in love with the brush work and color palette in this small scale painting, but upon further inspection found myself feeling pleased to inspect the variety of negative shapes: between the leaves and the water reflections, their values and chroma were expertly handled. The subtle changes of the different hues in the foliage and the sky supported the impressionistic style."
