HISTORIC BUILDING ASSESSMENT FOR 53 COLONY STREET
Gallery 53 received support for this project from the State Historic Preservation Office of the Department of Economic and Community Development with funds from the Community Investment Act of the State of Connecticut.

After requesting proposals from architectural/engineering firms and interviewing the leading respondents, the Raise the Roof Committee selected Luchs/DeCarlo & Doll - our Colony Street neighbor - to perform an historic building assessment. The results of this survey, funded by the Connecticut Historic Preservation Office, will be key in establishing goals for our roof replacement project as well as identifying future priorities for maintaining our building.
The committee selected Luchs/DeCarlo & Doll because they were impressed with their breadth and depth of expertise. Additionally, the firm previously evaluated 51 Colony Street, the adjoining half of our building. This familiarity gives them a running start in evaluating our structure. Stay tuned for mid to late September 2021 when we'll receive a final report and share details. |
