LEAP YEAR 2020 ART EXHIBIT
Leap Year 2020 Art Exhibit showcases paintings, drawings, prints, and photos, as well as digital and mixed media works from traditional and non-traditional artists. The show will be on exhibit throughout February during the gallery's regular hours.

ELIGIBILITY
- All entries must be ORIGINAL - your design and composition (from your own sketches and photos) as well as your own execution
- Not previously shown at Gallery 53.
- PHOTOGRAPHY MUST BE DRY, FRAMED, WIRED AND READY FOR HANGING.
- NO SAWTOOTH HANGERS.
- Framed work more than 42” in width accepted at discretion of a selection committee.
- Labels must be completed, signed and accompany each piece. Each label has 2 parts, (top and bottom) containing the same information. Affix the label to the lower lefthand corner of the work on the back of the frame. One half of the label will extend below the frame.
- A 25% commission will be taken on sold items.
- No POR; NFS is OK.

Michael DiGiorgio is a nationally recognized artist who is currently living in Madison, CT. Mike’s painting and drawings have appeared in a variety of nature books and journals, such as: Breeding Bird Atlas of CT, Master’s Guide to Birding, Audubon Field Guide to Birds/ Eastern and Western region, Bird Watcher’s Digest, Sanctuary (Massachusetts Audubon Magazine), Audubon Magazine and Audubon Nature Yearbook.
On the advice of his friend and mentor, the late Don Eckelberry, Mike has been painting and sketching birds from life since early in his career. He has traveled to the West Indies and South America to sketch and paint tropical bird and plant life. He has also traveled throughout the United States recording American birds. Mike won the first ever endowment award from the Academy of Natural Sciences in Philadelphia for recognition of his Bird Illustration work. This award was given in memory of Don Eckelberry. Mike’s paintings have been exhibited at the Bennington Center for the Arts, Bennington, VT; Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum, Wausau, WI; Pegasus Gallery, Middlesex College, Middletown, CT; Birds in their Habitat, Connecticut Audubon Society, Fairfield, CT; Focus on Nature, Albany State Museum, Albany, NY; Lyme Art Academy, Lyme, CT; and Academy of Natural Sciences in Philadelphia, PA., Cornell Lab of Ornithology , Ithaca, N.Y., and the Roger Tory Peterson Institute in Jamestown, N.Y. Mike is currently illustrating plates for a new guide to Brazil with Robert Ridgley and Guy Tudor and the Hawaiian bird additions to the Peterson Field Guide to Birds of North America.
