2020 was one wild sled ride! We're saying goodbye to 2020 with an exhibit showcasing all the up and downs, the negatives and the positives of this unprecedented year! We're also taking this moment to look ahead with renewed optimism to the rest of 2021 and beyond. In short, we're celebrating "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly!
This show will be on exhibit through February 2021 in the Gallery and online. Please stay tuned as our gallery staff hang the show and Sally DeSomma judges the works and awards prizes. We'll announce the prizes at the Opening Reception Saturday, February 6 at 1:00 PM. We'll also launch the virtual exhibit the same day!

eligibility
- Entry Fees: Members pay $25 first entry, $5 second entry / Nonmembers pay $30 first entry, $5 second entry
- Paintings (oil, acrylic, watercolor, pastel, mixed media), Photography, Drawings, and Digital Compositions
- Limit 2 entries
- All entries must be ORIGINAL - your design and composition from your own sketches and photos as well as your own execution and not previously shown at Gallery 53
- All entries must be wired and ready for hanging
- NO SAWTOOTH HANGERS
- Framed work more than 42” in width accepted at discretion of a selection committee
- Labels must be completed, signed and accompany each piece
- A 25% commission will be taken on sold items
- NO price on request
- Not for sale is OK
- Pick Up: Friday, Feb. 26, 12 -3 & Sat. Feb. 27, 10-1pm
- All work must be picked up within 30 days of shows end or will become Gallery 53 property
- ACAM assumes no responsibility for loss or damage sustained to any piece at any time. Every reasonable effort will be taken to prevent damage or loss
- Your signature on the entry form signifies your agreement with the terms above

judge: MALLY DeSOMMA
Mally DeSomma is an award-winning artist and signature member of the Connecticut Pastel Society. She has received numerous commissions for figures, animals, and still life, has designed specialty cards for businesses and individuals, and has done artwork for catalog companies. Winner of many awards in juried art shows, Mally has taught pastels, acrylics, and oils to adults and children at a private art school in Cheshire, Connecticut for over 20 years. She has also taught oils and pastels at the University of Connecticut Waterbury campus and privately in her own studio in Waterbury, Connecticut.
