At Gallery 53, our mission is to make art accessible to everyone in our community! One of the main ways we do that is by welcoming people into our gallery for classes, paint parties, and private art gallery events /rentals. No matter your age, interest, or ability, we're sure to have a class that’s perfect for you! And if you’re looking to schedule a private party, contact us to discuss your custom event!

HAND BUILT POTTERY
with Nancy Scilipote 10 SESSION WORKSHOP: TUESDAYS & THURSDAYS / 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM STARTS OCTOBER 12 $110 - members / $120 - non-members + $25 materials fee DESCRIPTION
Learn to create amazing ceramic items using just your hands, fingers, and simple tools! Master Potter Nancy Scilipote will teach you ancient handbuilding techniques such as coil building, slab building and pinch pots – and how to enhance your creations with surface textures and glazes. No experience needed. Classes will be held in Gallery 53’s fully-equipped ground level pottery studio. If you’ve always wanted to try making pottery but have been intimidated by the wheel, this is a great way to dive in. Come and have fun, get your hands dirty, and discover why “clay’s the way!” Vaccinated and Unvaccinated – Please wear MASKS. |

ICE DYE WORKSHOP
with Lynn Fisher Tuesday, October 12 & Thursday, October 14 / 6:30 - 8:00 PM $35 - members / $40 - non-members DESCRIPTION
Make a fabric masterpiece with Ice Dying! In this 2-session workshop, instructor Lynn Fisher will guide you through folding techniques and color selection to create a garment or piece of fabric with a vibrant, cloud-like watercolor look. See how easy it is to achieve the nuanced shading and unexpected effects that has made ice dying a popular sensation! Participants should bring fabric or items made of natural fiber such as cotton, rayon, bamboo, or linen. Suitable items include clothing, "fat quarters" for quilting and pillow cases. Everything should be washed ahead of time with no fabric softeners or dryer sheets, to remove any chemicals that will interfere with the dye. Please read our COVID Precautions & Policies before attending a class. NOTE: Even if COVID restrictions are lifted regarding masks, participants should bring a face mask to wear as a precaution when working with the powdered dye. |

DESIGN A WINDCHIME WORKSHOP

Instructor Libby Hitchcock will provide a variety of colored glass circles and show you how to assemble a wind chime that will grace your yard with color and sound! KIDS HOLIDAY ORNAMENT CLASS
with Karen Piazza & Karen Blakeslee Saturday, November 13 & Saturday November 20th / 1:00 PM - 2:30 PM $20 / child / ages 8 - 12 DESCRIPTION
Great hands on, creative opportunity for kids to make their own holiday ornaments in this 2 session class! In Week 1, students will learn to work with clay and make 10 ornaments. The ornaments will then be fired in the kiln and ready for week two. In Week 2, Students will paint, string and seal the fired ornaments. Class size is limited, don't miss out, register early! |

Ever admired those beautiful pinecone wreaths you see around the holidays? Now you can make your own!
