DESIGN A WIND CHIME

Instructor Libby Hitchcock will provide a variety of colored glass circles and show you how to assemble a wind chime that will grace your yard with color and sound this Spring! The Felted Landscape
with Diane Cadrain Saturday, February 1st * / 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM $100 per class + $20 materials CLASS DESCRIPTION
Using a photograph as reference, participants will use the softest of materials, wool roving, as if they were paint, along with a special barbed needle to create a felted landscape on a backing of raw silk. Students may bring their own landscape photographs (recommended size 8" x 10"), or use one provided by the instructor. Diane Cadrain is a Connecticut artist who uses fiber to create unique and beautiful images. Her work includes hand-painted fabric, felted fibers, machine piecing and quilting, hand embroidery, and beading. * Snow date February 8, 2020

Discover the fire and multicolored beauty of Dichroic Glass Jewelry! What is Dichroic Glass? Dichroic (pronounced "dye-crow-ick") glass, means "two colored." When you look at this glass, it appears to have more than one color at the same time, especially when viewed under different lighting. The effects you achieve when you fire these glasses in a special kiln will remind you of the rainbow patterns in a soap bubble or the colors of dragonfly wings! WALK-INS WELCOME! PREREGISTRATION NOT REQUIRED!
Gallery 53 offers ongoing art classes from September through June in our spacious, well-lit art studio. Sessions are available on a pay-as-you-go basis, preregistration is not necessary, walk-ins are welcome! If you're interested, we recommend calling Gallery 53 (203.235.5347) in advance to confirm availability. Attendees bring their own materials.

Portrait Studio
Tuesday Mornings / 9:30 AM - 12:00 PM $10 per session for members / $15 for non-members Monitor: Ellie Bender There’s nothing like the challenge of drawing or painting from life to help you learn to see and grow as an artist! Gallery 53's Portrait Studio features live models that rotate every 3 weeks. Artists paint or draw using the medium of their choice in these 2 1/2 hour studio sessions. There is no instructor, but these weekly sessions offer you an excellent opportunity to sharpen your observation and rendering skills. |
