Indigo Dye Workshop - July 2025
Weekend Class
Saturday, July 26th l 1:00 – 3:00 pm
with Lynn Keeler Fisher
Indigo is a plant-based dye used in many cultures that creates beautiful blue colors ranging from light baby blue to deep, rich dark blue. Indigo is often used with a variety of resist techniques to create striking designs. In this class, Lynn Fisher will demonstrate both tied and simple clamped resist techniques and guide students through the dying process.
Included is one 24" x 28" cotton flour sack towel to learn the process. You may bring one or two items of your own to dye, or instructor will have additional towels on hand for a small fee. Any items you bring should be made of cellulose fibers such as cotton, hemp, linen, rayon. To prepare items for dying, wash them in hot water with detergent only, no fabric softeners or dryer sheets. Bring an apron or wear clothes that you don’t mind getting dye on.
There is an additional $10 material fee, payable to instructor on day of workshop.
Please note: classes are non-refundable. If you are unable to attend, you can receive a credit to apply to a future class.
