Beginning Embroidery - Spring 2025
BEGINNING EMBROIDERY WORKSHOP with Lily Stabile
3 Sessions: Thursdays, May 1, 8 & 15
Times: 6:30 - 8:30 PM
Looking to try embroidery but not sure where to start? Come to our Beginning Embroidery Workshop and learn all the basics:
- Basic Stitches: such as running stitch, back stitch, satin stitch and more.
- Materials: fabric, thread, needles, and hoops provided.
- Pattern Transfer: how to transfer patterns onto fabric.
- Hoop Usage: how to keep your fabric taut with an embroidery hoop
- Finishing Techniques: ways to finish your embroidery project, like framing or creating a pillow.
You’ll leave the workshop with the foundation you need to create your own beautiful, stitched designs.
Talented Fiber Artist Lily Stabile will lead this 3 session workshop. In addition to creating her own fiber artwork, Lily does embroidery and hand spinning workshops and has been a volunteer at the Durham Fair Fiber Department for the past 6 years.
+ $10 materials fee, payable to instructor at first class (cash or check).
