Fundamentals of Embroidery - April 2026 - TEX 105-26
FUNDAMENTALS of EMBROIDERY WORKSHOP with Lily Stabile
4 Sessions: Thursdays, April 9, 16, 23 & 30
Times: 6:30 - 8:30 PM
Looking to try embroidery but not sure where to start? Come to our Beginning Embroidery Workshop and learn all the basics:
- Basic Stitches: such as running stitch, back stitch, satin stitch and more.
- Materials: fabric, thread, needles, and hoops provided.
- Pattern Transfer: how to transfer patterns onto fabric.
- Hoop Usage: how to keep your fabric taut with an embroidery hoop
- Finishing Techniques: ways to finish your embroidery project, like framing or creating a pillow.
Students will receive a beautifully packaged beginner’s supply kit, which is included in the price of the class. Some students also elect to bring along projects or kits from home, and this can be accommodated as well- our goal is to give you what you require to take you where you want to go. You’ll leave the workshop with the foundation you need to create your own beautiful, stitched designs.
Talented Fiber Artist Lily Stabile will lead this 4 session workshop. In addition to creating her own fiber artwork, Lily does embroidery and hand spinning workshops and has been a volunteer at the Durham Fair Fiber Department for the past 6 years.
