By dedicating an exhibit to abstract art, we hope to attract those new voices as well as provide exposure for our member artists' more experimental, less traditional work. Paintings, drawings, photographs, digital compositions and sculptures will be accepted.
Transforming Reality: the 2026 Abstract Art Show will be on exhibit in the gallery through the month of April. By entering online, you'll be included in the virtual exhibit and may be posted on our social media.* Detailed entry information is below.

ABOUT ALEX RANNIELLO
|
Alex Ranniello is an award-winning artist based in Enfield, Connecticut with a focus in portrait & figure painting. His work captures the pinnacle of summertime in a way that captures the human spirit. Through deep investigation, he couples unique compositions with robust colors, dynamic subjects and luscious warm scenery all wrapped up into a thought provoking viewing experience. His north star has always been creating art that speaks to the soul, that is accessible at every level (for the public) and never compromises on beauty. Many of his influences derive from icons of 20th century West Coast portrait/figure painting tradition.
In addition to his studio practice, Alex is a state-renowned muralist, arts program administrator, gallery board member, guest curator, lecturer, and juror. Over the years, he’s additionally served as a workshop instructor, collegiate visiting artist, as well as arts event community programmer - all devoted to advocacy for the arts in Connecticut. In 2018, Alex completed his accredited solo residency at A.I.R. Studios-Paducah (KY) and since 2017 has been featured in over 120 group & solo exhibitions across the Connecticut Tri-state region. Alex is the current Vice Chair/Artistic Director of InterCommunity Gallery in East Hartford. |
